Here are some of the ways that we can be of service to our neighbors.

Elgin Community Crisis Center food collection
The Crisis Center provides food, financial aid and social services to people in crisis in our community. Non-perishable food and personal care items are collected at St. Hugh on the first Sunday of each month. You may also donate money, goods and time directly to the Crisis Center at crisiscenter.org

St. Hugh at Food for Greater Elgin
FFGE provides groceries to anyone in need. A team from St. Hugh volunteers on the 4th Wednesdays of each month at 10:30 am, stocking shelves and assisting guests. See parish directory to contact coordinator. For more information: foodforgreaterelgin.org

The St. Hugh of Lincoln Jobs Ministry
This team provides accountablilty, support, coaching strategies, and resume assessment to those in job/career need. See parish directory to contact coordinator.

Elgin Cooperative Ministry
This group organizes soup kitchens at local churches that provide meals for the hungry. elgincoopministry.com/volunteer

St Hugh hosts an annual blood drive, and you can also donate blood any time at a Versiti donation center. versiti.org/blood-donation-locations/illinois

The Literacy Connection

Journeycare Hospice
Volunteers provide companionship for hospice patients. “Small talk” skills are all that is needed. journeycare.org/
